Things unremembered after the twighlight passes….

Monday, January 31st, 2005

Sometimes I think the only thing I’ve really learned in college is how to very effectively piss off girls. I should get some sort of degree for my relentless research in this… or an award… or something… something other than being slapped, cuz I get that enough as it is…

And for the record I have NO IDEA what Im talking about in the title

Harrumph

Sunday, January 30th, 2005

An onomatopoeia that describes a general feeling of anxiety accompanied by mild irritability, slight confusion, and acute asshattedness. Usually used as an interjection and quite frequently all by itself. Origin of the word differs greatly depending on who you discuss it with, but most scholars will tell you it has some root in Greek or Latin. The lay-person will tell inform you of a more accurate depiction of its true heritage though. Harrumph comes from with in, it is found with in all of us and it truly is the binding force that holds the universe together. It is in a way the true reaction to diversity and at a core level the very cause of it.

I really have no idea what I’m talking about… pretty much all the time…

Damnable replacement parts

Monday, January 24th, 2005

I had a nice page long rant about spam and religion written and was just doing some finishing touches before submitting it when I found a very interesting feature on my temporary keyboard. Half of the left shift key was replaced by some function key. I figured this key was probably harmless because it most likely needed some additional piece of software to do anything. So I didn’t really think about it. Now back to my story. I was just about to submit this elegant and well thought out rant about something or other, when I accidently pressed this function key combined with the left arrow key. Apparently this specific key combination (which was unlabeled) sends a signal to Windows (hate hate hate) to terminate all open programs and to shut down. Imagine my displeasure when a good 20 minutes of work just disappears before my eyes. Being naught that I could do to save my now irrevocably dissipated observations, I set out to rectify the situation as best I could. I have since transplanted said keyboard onto my roommates computer and now have stolen his. MWAHAHA.

Things random and pseudo-personal

Wednesday, January 19th, 2005

It appears this would be the first posting that could be considered to be on a somewhat personal note. The spring 05 semester seems to be starting off well. Classes seem interesting and for once all of my professors seem competent. I may be getting to go to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March, which would be a mixed blessing as it falls right before spring break and smack dab in the middle of mid-term time. I’m trying to get a position doing research in Artificial Intelligence, which would only be the coolest thing in the world as I’ve been pursuing this topic for quite sometime extra-curricularly and I’ve always been interested in trying out real research. In a less academic front, namely the relationship game, I have met an interesting young girl that I think may share my interest. Well, not in her, but in me. *Ahem* Perhaps, ‘return’ would be better placed there. At any rate, if you actually know me then you know I am absolutely abysmally awful with such things and even worse, albeit more experienced, at talking about them.
